Overview
The Table View can be displayed using either a Horizontal or Vertical layout. Users can switch between these layouts at any time to best suit their current task. By default, the Table View is displayed using the Horizontal layout.
Each layout offers the same functionality but presents the information differently.
Horizontal Layout
The Horizontal layout displays the table beneath the map. This layout allows users to view more attributes for each record at one time, making it useful when comparing detailed record information. If additional records need to be displayed, the table can be resized to occupy more of the screen.
Vertical Layout
The Vertical layout displays the table beside the map, allowing users to view more record rows while keeping a larger map visible. Because the table is narrower, fewer attributes are visible at one time, although additional attributes can still be viewed by scrolling horizontally.
Switching Between Layouts
Switching to the Vertical Layout
The Vertical layout displays the table beside the map, providing additional vertical space for viewing records while keeping the map visible.
To switch to the Vertical layout:
- Select Layout above the table.
- The currently selected layout is identified by a check mark.
- Select Vertical.
The layout changes immediately.
After switching to the Vertical layout, the table action buttons are consolidated into the Table Options button located in the upper-right corner of the table. All of the same functionality remains available; it is simply accessed through this menu.
Switching to the Horizontal Layout
The Horizontal layout is the default table layout and displays the table beneath the map.
To return to the Horizontal layout:
- Select the Table Options button.
- Select Horizontal.
- The layout changes immediately.
Resizing the Table
The Table View can be resized based on user needs in either layout.
Vertical Layout
To resize the Vertical layout:
- Position the pointer over the divider between the map and table until the resize cursor appears.
- Click and drag the divider to adjust the width of the table.
- Release the mouse button when the desired size has been reached.
The layout updates continuously as you drag.
Horizontal Layout
To resize the Horizontal layout:
- Position the pointer over the top edge of the table until the resize cursor appears.
- Click and drag the edge of the table upward or downward.
- Release the mouse button when the desired size has been reached.
The table can be reduced until only the Record Type tabs remain visible.
Minimizing and Expanding the Table
When using the Horizontal layout, the table can also be minimized without changing its current size.
To minimize the table:
- Select Minimize.
- The table collapses to a single row.
To restore the table:
- Select Expand.
- The table returns to the size it was before it was minimized.
For example, if you previously resized the table to display many records, selecting Expand restores it to that size. Likewise, if the table was only slightly expanded before minimizing, it returns to that smaller size.
Configuration Differences
The ability to switch between Horizontal and Vertical layouts is available to all users.
Each user can resize the table and choose their preferred layout independently. These display preferences affect only the current user's view and do not affect other users.
