Before you install GeoPDF Composer, make sure that your machine meets the following hardware and software requirements. If you are installing GeoPDF Composer 3D, make sure your machine also meets the special requirements below.

Hardware requirements

• 280 MB of hard disk space to install the GeoPDF Composer

• 32-bit or 64-bit Processor

Supported operating systems

• Microsoft Windows 8.1

• Microsoft Windows 10 (versions 1709, 1803, 1809, 1903, 1909)

• Microsoft Windows Server™ 2008 R2

• Microsoft Windows Server 2012, 2012 R2, and 2016

• Software is tested and officially supported on an English (US) Operating System.

Notes:

• GeoPDF Composer version 7.6.0.55 was the last officially supported version for Windows 7.

• See the GeoPDF Composer Release Notes for the most up-to-date information about supported operating systems and supported versions of Acrobat and Reader.

Software requirements

• Adobe Acrobat versions X.x, XI, DC, Adobe Acrobat 2017 (Classic) or Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020 (Classic) for viewing GeoPDF files.

You must uninstall older versions of GeoPDF Composer prior to install of this new version.

GeoPDF Composer 3D

In addition to those requirements listed above, GeoPDF Composer 3D has the following special requirements.

Hardware requirements

• Creating a 3D GeoPDF file is a resource-intensive operation. It is recommended that the hardware has at least 4 GB of RAM and a CPU with two or more cores. The hardware should also have enough free disk space (about five times that of one dataset) to accommodate the temporary files created during the creation process.

• For an enhanced viewing experience of the 3D GeoPDF file, a 24-bit-capable graphics accelerator with 256 MB RAM or higher is recommended.

• Non-English Microsoft Windows operating systems are not supported in this release.

Software requirements

• Tetra4D is required to create a 3D PDF from a model source for users running Adobe X.x or XI. Tetra4D is not required to register a 3D PDF file, create a 3D GeoPDF file or use the GeoPDF Composer 3D GeoPDF Creation Tool.

• Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe Acrobat X.x or XI or Adobe LiveCycle is required to enable a GeoPDF file for comments and measuring/analysis.
