Activating GeoPDF Publisher for ArcGIS

You must activate Publisher for ArcGIS before you can use it. If you did not activate the software when the installation process completed, you must activate it from your machine's Start menu.

Activating a trial license

1. From your computer's Start menu, click All Programs, then TerraGo Technologies > Publisher for ArcGIS > Activate Publisher for ArcGIS.

2. In the TerraGo License Manager dialog box, choose Trial.

3. Click Next.

4. When the activation message appears, click Finish.

Note: When using a trial license, your GeoPDF files will be watermarked.

Activating a standalone license using the Internet

1. From your computer's Start menu, click All Programs, then TerraGo Technologies > Publisher for ArcGIS > Activate Publisher for ArcGIS.

2. In the Activation Wizard dialog, choose Standalone and click Next.

3. Enter your authorization code the Authorization Codes boxes and click Next.

4. Enter your name in the Contact Name box.

5. Choose Yes next to Connect to Internet.

6. The activation process will send both the authorization code and lock code to TerraGo Technologies, validate the license file, and license the product. Click Next.

7. When the activation message appears, click Finish.

Note: If the activation process cannot successfully license the product, an error message will appear. Click OK. Click the Connected to Internet No button and follow the instructions below.

Activating a standalone license without an Internet connection

1. From your computer's Start menu, click All Programs, then TerraGo Technologies > Publisher for ArcGIS > Activate Publisher for ArcGIS.

2. In the Activation Wizard dialog, choose Standalone and click Next.

3. Enter your name in the Contact Name box.

4. Choose No next to Connected to Internet.

5. If this is your first installation of the product and you can gain access to the internet:

   1. Navigate to http://www.terragotech.com/support/activate and provide the authorization code and lock code.

   2. The license file will be emailed to you. Save the license file to your machine, making note of its location.

   3. Click Browse to navigate to the location where you saved the license file or type the path in the field provided.

   4. Click Next. The activation process will validate the license file.

6. If this is your first installation of the product and you cannot gain immediate access to the internet, contact Technical Support at support@terragotech.com for assistance.

7. If this is not your first installation of the product, click Browse to navigate to the location on your machine where you saved your license file. Click Next. The activation process will validate the license file.

8. When the activation message appears, click Finish.

Activating a concurrent license

1. From your computer's Start menu, click All Programs, then TerraGo Technologies > Publisher for ArcGIS > Activate Publisher for ArcGIS.

2. In the Activation Wizard dialog, choose Concurrent and click Next.

3. Enter the name of the concurrent license server, select the features for which you are licensed, and click Next. The activation process will validate the server.

4. When the activation message appears, click Finish.

Notes:

• If you are running a concurrent license and no license is available for use, you cannot export a GeoPDF file until a GeoPDF Publisher for ArcGIS license becomes available.

• If you select features for which you are not licensed, you will experience delays in starting and using the application.

Turning on the GeoPDF for ArcGIS Publisher extensions

To be able to work with GeoPDF Publisher for ArcGIS functionality you must ensure that the extensions for which you are licensed are turned on. Available GeoPDF Publisher for ArcGIS extensions include GeoMark Export, GeoMark Import, GeoPDF Export and GeoPDF View. Depending upon the version of ArcGIS you are running, you turn on the extensions from different menus.

From Customize on the main menu, click Extensions.

Verify that the extensions for which you are licensed are turned on. If they are not turned on, check them to turn them on.

Click Close.

Turning on the GeoPDF for ArcGIS toolbar

You can turn on the GeoPDF for ArcGIS toolbar one of two ways:

• Right click on ArcMap's tools and select GeoPDF Publisher for ArcGIS

• Navigate to Customize > Customize Mode and select
