Should you doubt the integrity of the coordinate system associated with your source image file or if your source image file is not associated with a coordinate system, Publisher for Raster allows you to specify the coordinate reference system to be used in the output GeoPDF file.
The Coordinate System Selector dialog box allows you to:
-
Search a predefined list of coordinate systems
-
Create a custom coordinate system
-
Choose from a list of recently used coordinate systems
In this section:
Overriding the coordinate system
To override the coordinate system associated with the source image file, type the location path and file name of the source image file in the Source Image File box. This is a required field. You can also click the ellipsis button to open the Select Source Image File dialog box through which you can navigate to the location of your image file. Select the file and then click Open.
Navigate to Advanced Options > Specify Spatial Reference and specify the new coordinate system using one of the following tabs:
-
Predefined
-
Custom
-
Import
-
History
Searching predefined coordinate systems
Use the Smart Search box in the Predefined tab to searched through the predefined coordinate systems. Type the first few characters in the coordinate system name in the Smart Search box. You can filter your search to reduce the number of found records by selecting specific coordinate system and projection types.
From the Coordinate System Type list box, choose either Geographic or Projected.
From the Projection Types list box, choose Gauss Kruger, Polar, State Plane, UTM, WGS 84 SCAR.
Viewing and modifying coordinate system details
Select the coordinate system in the left pane to view the details in the right pane.
To modify the details of the selected coordinate system, click Edit and modify the custom coordinate system in the Custom tab.
Saving your coordinate system
To save the selected coordinate system in a .WKT file, click Save to file. Enter the name of the .WKT file you want to save in the File name box and then click Save.
Defining a custom coordinate system
Use the Custom tab to define a custom coordinate system. Specify the following information about your custom coordinate system:
-
Projection: choose the projection on which your source image file should be based. Complete the projection details as needed.
-
Units: Choose the unit of measurement on which the selected projection should be based.
-
Datum Smart Search: If you want to define a custom geographic coordinate system, type the first few characters in the datum name.
-
WGS 84 Transformations:Choose the transformation shift to apply to your custom coordinate system or specify whether the shift is not a transformation but an ellipsoid shift. Modify the transformation details as needed.
Saving your coordinate system
To save the custom coordinate system in a .WKT file, click Save to file. Enter the name of the .WKT file you want to save in the File name box and then click Save.
Importing a coordinate system
To import a coordinate system via a .PRJ or .WKT file, click the Import tab. Type the path and file name to the .PRJ or .WKT file, or click Browse to open the Select file box and navigate to the location of the file. Click OK.
Applying a recently used coordinate system
To apply a recently used coordinate system, click the History tab. From the left pane, select the coordinate system to apply. Click OK.
